The Devil’s Point, known in Scottish Gaelic as “Bod an Deamhain,” is a prominent mountain located in the Cairngorms of Scotland. It stands at an elevation of 1,004 meters (3,294 feet) and is situated to the west of the Lairig Ghru pass, a major route through the Cairngorms. The mountain’s Gaelic name translates to “Penis of the Demon,” a reference to its striking and rugged appearance. However, the English name, The Devil’s Point, was popularized following a visit by Queen Victoria, during which her ghillie provided a more euphemistic translation to avoid embarrassment.
